The Bump and Beyond Project shares the love of Christ to ALL women and children. Women in Africa are clearly disadvantaged and are among the poorest of the poor and as such innocent children are greatly affected.
The Bump and Beyond Project seeks to sustain lives, empower women, and protect children in these ways:
Delivery With A Smile Project
We are providing underprivileged pregnant women and teenage expectant mothers with delivery kits. Most of these women cannot afford items for delivery and are burdened with stress and faced with shame. Therefore most of these women give birth at home and are at the mercy of untrained birth attendants. We want to take the stress of these women and decrease the maternal mortality rate.
A Delivery Kit consists of
Diapers
Sanitary pads
Baby cosmetics
Disposable bed mats
Wipes
Baby clothes
Cot sheets.
A Delivery Kit costs 20 USD or 100 cedis or its equivalent.
Vocational Training
We also train these pregnant women in employable skills to create sustainable livelihoods. We train them in bead-making, detergent making, millinery, and sewing.
Day Care
Whilst the women are learning these skills, we provide their children (1-5 years) with daycare and free nutritious meals for the period. So that they can fully concentrate on learning the skills whilst their children are in safe hands.
